The Mid-Georgia Locally Grown Market is dedicated to bring to the people living in the Heron Bay community and the counties of mid-Georgia naturally, or organically, grown fresh produce, meat, baked goods, preserves, honey, etc.
We are a small group of local farmers who have joined together to market our farm products directly to the public. See each farm’s description under “Our Growers” section of this website. Please note that many of our growers have their own websites for informational purposes. DO NOT ORDER through a farm’s website for our regular scheduled deliveries; use only this market website to be sure your items are delivered as promised. If you have problems, please contact Bill at 770-584-9727 before 7pm each day or email at wmfarr@bellsouth.net.
Our ordering process is simple.
- There are no customer fees
- You must sign up and open an account in order to place orders and to receive messages from the market manager regarding new items and to get reminders from him of when to place your next order. Even if you do not sign up please stop by because we will have extras to purchase. Signing up will help us serve you better. We will help you sign up if you’re having problems.
- You only buy in small quantities — just want you want and need
- We will send you each week a short e-mail reminder to registered customers as to what’s new and presently available through our website for the next Market Day. You will find the price and the farm it was raised or processed on. Once you place an order you will receive an automated confirmation e-mail with the detail of your order. We do not share or sell your name, address or e-mail address.
- Simply place an order here in this website at The Market section, see link above, starting Mondays at 8 am until Thur at 10 pm.
- We will deliver to the Cannongate Parking Lot in Heron Bay on Sat. between 4 and 5 pm. We will not set up tents, just deliver.
- You will be purchasing directly from local farmers, not through brokers. Each vendor is an independent agent.*
- The offerings will vary week-to-week during the growing seasons. Pictures of products in this website are advertising approximations and each item will vary.
- Many of the preserves and baked goods will be made especially for diabetic people. The vendors only sell items for human consumption that made in a GA. Dept. of Agriculture inspected and certified kitchen. All meats are processed in an GA. Agriculture Dept. Inspected Facility (under USDA specifications and regulations) and all product labels are approved by the same agency. Mobile freezers are licensed and inspected also by the GA. Dept of Agriculture.
Please go to the section titled “Our Growers” to learn more about each farm and what they offer. You will also find an e-mail link directly to them in this same section if you need to ask a question.
The market will begin in February and continue throughout the year as demand and availability of product determines.
Thanks for your interest!
Each grower is an independent agent/vendor and is responsible for their pricing, quality, collection of sales tax and communication with customers. The Mid-Georgia locally grown website, and its caretaker (Bill), are simply and only providers of access to this site as a merchandising vehicle for local farmers – growers to use in order to make their products easily available to the residents of mid-Georgia. If you have a problem with an item, speak directly to the vendor.
Looking forward to meeting you!
